Two new blocks completed for the ‘T’ block quilt.
My original plan was to create two of each block for this quilt. However, having come up just short on material with some of the choices, that idea is out the window.
With the block above, I flipped the color pattern for this one (see below) It’s so interesting to see the effect of color placement as well as the difference in color that lighting has on a block. Aside from vibrancy of the color of block 2, I like it better.
A big thank you to Nanette of https://doitrightquilter.com with a gentle nudge that a flying geese ruler from Eleanor Burns, Quilt in a Day, would help me, I have ordered one and am excited for the ruler to arrive. I know it is going to help with crafting these beauties.

Block 2 definitely has more pop to it right away…with block 1 the yellow and the lighter blue seem to flow into each other then the center pops. Have fun playing around with your blocks that’s how one learns. Your doing great!

I took a second look and you’re definitely right about the colors blending. That was the problem, two flowery fabrics next to each other; doesn’t work 🙂 Thanks Deb, fun is the word with this one 🙂

I like your blocks!!! So glad to see you working on the Capital T. I need to send an email to Bella and check on her! Will keep you posted! Keep up the good work and you will love the rulers! She has them for all sizes. I am using the one for a finished 3/4″ x 1 1/2″ (I think that is the size) for my Christmas SAL. I need to do a post on the progress ! 3″ Stars and 3″ 9 patches – FUN! Hugs

The ruler arrived, now to get busy again! I had checked in with Bella a couple of weeks ago, not to much on how she is doing but she enjoyed knowing I was working on the T quilt. Yes – please post a few pics of your progress for the Christmas SAL ~ hugs back

I am so inspired by your hand piecing these blocks in true pioneer spirit, Sharon! I am thinking about trying that. You are having a great time learning and experimenting, you are inspiring!

To kind Kathy and as far as the pioneer spirit, I have been thinking sewing machine quite a few times lately 🙂 Glad I am inspiring you so I’ll keep to the hand sewing for a bit longer 🙂

Wait–you’re hand piecing these?! That’s dedication! I haven’t hand pieced in years but I remember what slow going it was! I love seeing how different the two blocks are, where you just switched the colors around!

Those T-blocks are really nice. That’s the pattern for our block lotto this month – 1/4 of the block, or one T I was thinking about using them facing the other way, if I win, but they surely do look pretty this way.
