Tea Towels for Gift-Giving

I have been having fun with tea towels. Whether you need a gift at the spur of the moment or the event is planned ahead of time, they make the perfect personal gift that says your important to me.

I haven’t decided if I will give all three together or individually along with a bottle of wine and a great bottle stopper.

These will be paired with a fabulous cookbook on herbs. Either given as a set or I will break it up as two towels and book or maybe even with some herb starts (if in season)

The Cilantro is my favorite as I am partial to anything southwestern. I love the A in Basil, the flowers for Oregano were so fun to make and the Chives, well I love chives and they grow wild in my garden, returning yearly. I love to let them go to seed for the beautiful purple flower tops and who doesn’t like a baked potato topped with sour cream and chives.

Your so right about not using them. I have a set I got when I married and have never used them 🙂

They’re beautiful, so neat, I love the ‘A’ in basil too, very stylish! Wonderful gifts but I bet they don’t get used for washing up 🙂

Thank you 🙂 That A is truly lovely. These types of towels are so wonderful I don’t think anyone really uses them.

I use them! And I use my handwoven towels–they were all meant to do a job of work! That having been said, they are really delightful! Such perfect stitches and sweet designs. I would dole them out, one at a time, to only very special people, who I knew would understand the work that went into them! I’m currently embroidering on a vintage linen tablecloth that some unknown woman started and never finished. I love these vintage designs.

Hi Kerry ~ you certainly have a point – they were meant to do a job but I just can’t bring myself to use them. I imagine it is the white background that will stain that keeps them shelved for me. Your ‘gorgeous’ handwoven towels seem much sturdier and I can see using them. I like the one at a time and Yes, only to those who would appreciate them. Please make sure to post the vintage tablecloth you are finishing ~ I would love to see it 🙂
