Quilting and Cross~stitch

Always checking in at our local Goodwill store for a treasure or two, I spotted the sweetest framed cross stitch project I just had to rescue.

Quilts and Cross~stitch, can it get any sweeter?

Sadly this beauty was not signed and is a reminder to me to sign and date; somewhere! A lot of work was put into this and the backstory and maker has been ‘lost’ while she sat in the picture bins of this thrift store. Who knows how many Goodwill thrifts she sat in before making her way to our corner of the country.

Her new markings read: Found August 9th 2019 at the Bellingham, WA Goodwill store.

Thanks Caire – I had to save her. Chooks I think are a term for chickens 🙂 A term used in Europe/England?

I have that pattern hanging on the stair wall in my dining room! It’s a trio. I have the patterns…they were in a magazine!

Yow–I can’t believe the luck you have at that Goodwill store! I’m big into thrift shopping but I never find the treasures you do. This is just wonderful–and so perfect for you!

You should see me drooling and following them when I see something in someone else’s cart that got to something before me …. they may put it back – our store is amazing with truck loads coming up daily from Seattle store

I was raised around Amish and this brings back memories. I’m glad you rescued it.

I am glad I rescued it too. It’s so lovely. I have been on a visit to a few communities in Missouri when visiting 🙂 Always interesting – such amazing crafting going on

Lovely! Very true, we should sign and date. I never do either on my pieces…I should!

I haven’t been consistent myself with doing that but I will from now on 🙂

A lovely find! I always feel so sad for the orphaned pieces, especially when they were so beautifully stitched!
