HQAL: Two Project Updates With Smiles

At our last check in I showed you the baby quilt I had been working on.

Consensus ~ the satin blanket binding was way to wide, covered the green inside sashing and just had to be go bye bye

My second and on going project has been the “T’ block quilt.

I had also shown you my first attempt at sashing using black and well

Yuk – all wrong again πŸ™‚

With your help and suggestions I feel like I am on the right path again …although my photography skills are lacking ~

I am framing each block with a coordinating fabric. Five down eleven more to go.

Sharon!!! The baby quilt is just perfect, a beautiful finish! I love what you are doing with the T Blocks, so glad you have landed on a solution you love. (I love it too.)

Thanks Kathy πŸ™‚ I really love the baby quilt and how it turn out and so thankful for all the support to get it there. The ‘T’ block quilt has been kind of a sour lemon for me, color choices for the blocks, a real learning curve with the geese, I was a bit discouraged with this project but now I have done a totally reversal and feeling happy to be working on it.

The baby quilt is cute, will be much loved and used. I really like the way your T blocks look, I’m tempted to start making some. Happy Stitching!

Thank you Gretchen ~ The T Blocks are fun but I much prefer them all done in solid 2 colors, like red and white of blue and white. Nanette did a gorgeous T quilt this way.

The baby quilt is much more balanced now. I’m glad you kept the lace bit, though. The other blocks are going to be such an interesting quilt. I didn’t think the black was as bad as you did, but the coordinating colors are very nice.

Thank you Susan for your positive feedback πŸ™‚ I am thinking black may not be to bad piecing it all together but will most likely go with something else ~

Thank you ~ I didn’t want to do anything to baby traditional for this gift. I am hoping (fingers crossed) that mom & dad will appreciate the look too πŸ™‚

Baby quilt is great, it’s lovely to see one that’s not all pastelly and cutsy. Blocks look great with the sashing too

Thank you so much…I stayed away from the cutesy with this one as the parents are more ‘earthy – non traditional’ I hope that they love it πŸ™‚
