Time again for an update and of course remembering to set the clock ahead an hour. When we fell back in fall my sleep pattern never changed, I have been up by 4am, 5 if I was lucky. I so welcome the change and spring in the air.
At our last posting my project looked like this. I had begun his hat and outline of the sweet squirrel.

As I progressed, I realized I had made an error in counting. I continued hoping that it wouldn’t be noticeable. But it didn’t take to long – well, long enough for a few ****, and a frogging I went. Isn’t that the pits when you have a lot to do like the whole black section which was actually quite a bit of confetti stitching (dread) that had to come out and you can see it also had what was the start to a flower with ribbon.
After all that I decided to just do the hat solid black and eliminate the flower. I am happy with it. I also moved down to the scarf area and added a few stitches.

Now looking forward to visiting the pages of the others in this SAL – please join me!

About the SAL
Please note this SAL is not accepting any more new members until further notice but this is what it’s all about anyway. This SAL (Stitch Along) is slightly different to other SALs in that we don’t all stitch the same design at the same rate. We choose ONE unfinished project, or ONE new one, and show progress of its completion over a series of three weekly updates. There are no deadlines and no set amount to stitch. The result is that the space in our drawers full of WIPs (works in progress) is gradually being freed up to store lots of new crafty goodness. It’s surprising how much motivation I’ve gained from being in this SAL.
well done on getting the hat done Sharon ^^

I hate when that nasty frog visits. Your snowman is looking great!

LOL – I wasn’t a gracious hostess either during his visit 🙂

Still laughing at Cathie’s comment about the nasty frog LOL. Sorry to hear you had to redo the hat but it’s sorted now and it looks great!

That was cute what Cathy wrote and I told her I wasn’t a nice hostess either during the visit 🙂

Lovely hat! Isn’t it unreal how just a little missed counted stitching messes up the design…. You definitely got rid of the nasty frog.😁

If I am being honest Deb, I think I had more than one counting error – like a whole bunch to be more accurate 🙂

Frogging is no fun, but I think you did the right decision!

Sorry to hear about the frog and the dreaded confetti! But I really like the change to the hat, simple and gave you a jump to the next part! Squirrel and cardinal looking awfully cute!

Thank you for the confirmation and encouragement 🙂 I actually like things simple and really should have taken a better look see before starting. All the confetti was for shadowing/shading – and not really needed. The flower with ribbon was cute though.

I hate frogging too, you just have to grit your teeth and do it! The squirrel looks so cute 🙂

I am always off with counting when there’s lots of confetti stitching. I need to keep things simpler from the get go.

I am finally learning how to read and count the pattern in a way that I only make small boo boo’s
When I did Minnie Mouse I started that one over 3 times (first time cross stitching). The one I am working on I changed the colors and now am thinking that I will change other things on the pattern. I really like the way you have the Snowman’s hat! Doesn’t need all that extraneous flowers! Hugs

I think we can all admit to altering patterns a little here and there. I changed the nose and cheeks of a child on one design because they made the poor kid look like a piglet. You can always add some details in backstitch with French knots if you feel the hat is too bare, at a later stage. Good save
