HQAL: The Santas Child Quilt

Checking in with this 3 week update on the child’s Santa quilt. With our last 2 updates I shared the same picture as everything pretty much is exactly the same. One pattern that I am quilting free hand hearts on.

I have been working pretty steady and was surprised to discover I had finished with all the needed hearts mid week. So it was on to the border! For the binding I had left a nice overlap of backing material and simply turned it over to create the binding.

I am still in the process of sewing it down but I am super close to a finish. This is for a grandson I am still trying to decide if I want to add a bit more to the border, some ric rac maybe? I need something to fancy this up.

Just a quick update on Gus and how he is doing adjusting to us …. fabulous! He’s not quite sure what his dog bed is for though. There has been a few firsts too, first outing to Petsmart, first outing to the Vet, first outing to the dog park, first outing to an outdoor restaurant, first outing to friends for a party with other dogs there and this coming week his first outing to his new groomer.

Thank you so m much for stopping by and visiting with me today. Here’s to a week ahead with lots of quilting magic happening in your home. Please join me in visiting the others in the HQAL by clicking on the links below.

Oh Gus, you silly boy! Bandit has started going downstairs with Greg. He climbs under the blanket and lays with his head on Greg’s pillow! You are really moving through those Christmas gifts! I agree the Santa quilt could use a little extra trim, something that won’t get lost in all those faces.

Oh my goodness Bandit, thats adorable! I’m not a big ric rac fan. I need to come up with something. Thanks for confirming my thoughts on this 🙂

I also think the quilt needs some trim, and it is going to make a great gift! Gus is adorable! 🙂

~ totally agree for trim ~ I just bought some mini red pompom trim which I think is going to do the trick. Its for a 6 yr old so not a choking hazard
