SAL: Trick Or Treat Update #7

Here we are at the three week check in. It’s a timely check in for this Trick or Treat project. Here is where I was last time.

For my progress on this update notice I added an additional bottom row to the section one before getting started on the second section.

This project has been a real challenge for me. It’s been extremely difficult to follow the directions and match colors to the suggested floss. I have taken some liberty in making this my own {Halloween nightmare} I have been referring back to the cover photo on the package insert for color guidance but while writing this I had the idea to take the cover picture I had and crop it to show you some of the changes I have made. I am so glad I did because it really gave me a great view, a real eye opener, of what I was looking at. I have decided I will be removing it all and be starting the whole section again after seeing this view below.

Now it’s off to take a look at what everyone else has been working on, please join me. We live all over the world so you may need to allow for time differences. Posting takes place every third Sunday, local time. Our next update will be on the 15th of November.

I really love how you’re adapting and changing things as you go. A very colourful piece, and it will be totally unique!

LOL, thank you Claire, unique it is but I am having a bit of fun interpreting what I see and can’t see 🙂

What a shame that the colour directions aren’t clear. You’re doing a great job though!

Thank you Carole. This is giving me a run for the little money I spent purchasing a non complete kit 🙂

Oh bother.. Mr. ripper is coming out again,so I read… don’t get to happy with the ripper as I like your version.. just make it your own piece of work. Just my opinion 🙂

Oh bother and it was. It is already removed but no worry it will be my own for sure 🙂 Thank you Deb. I kind of wish I had waited for your sweet reply

Wow, It appears that the directions are definitely not all that clear. I really hate when that happens. I think this is looking great, but I could see why you want to take out some of the bottom.

The directions are ‘way’ confusing for me. Thanks for the encouragement on this. I have started the re work on this 🙂

You’re making something unique which is great! Have fun with the colours and the design and enjoy the process (except for the ripping of course).

Hang in there Sharon! I thought you were going for a witch until I saw the cover which looks more like a scare crow…this is indeed a challenge! It’s fine to get a bit artistic and change things up!

LOL I was thinking the person was a farmer first then a witch too. I think you are right, a scarecrow might be it. Taking lots of liberties and feeling the freedom!!!

Wow! You are doing an amazing job. I would not have guessed it was an incomplete kit with poor directions. It will be uniquely yours. Fantastic work!

Thank you Renee. I picked up the kit at our local Goodwill some time back. It only had the directions. I was really disappointed. I was expecting at least ….something more. I should have opened the package and peeked in 🙂

LOL, I wish I could see the issues before but thankful for photo’s and posting because I may have kept going and going and not see how wonky it truly is. Thanks Nanette, I am making some good headway now with the redo
