HQAL: Jane’s Quilt Update

Monday morning and I opened my computer to the heading above and the HQAL links below and realized I never wrote my post. I was feeling off all day. I had a bad back ache and bit of upset tummy, canceled a sister and brother in law visit, got out a blanket and heating pad and relaxed. (I am feeling 100% today) And then there was Netflix. we had started the show ‘Trailors’ a reality show, the day before. ok ~ I have never and I mean never watched one of those type of shows before but this one hooked us in and yes we binged watched and finished the entire season 1 – forgive me please ๐Ÿ™‚

So on to my beautiful Jane’s Quilt. I didn’t get much done but made progress with 6 logs completed this time. She is massive and a beauty. (original picture not quilted yet)

I have been hand quilting though, working on a baby quilt that I need to get done. She has taken up much of my hand quilting time. My first plan was to outline all the pictures in the blocks, which is what I have been doing. With one last block to work on I am trying to decide if that was enough or I should have or should I do more. Perhaps a pattern in the sashing. Thoughts and ideas ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s it for me this time, I am off now to catch up on the others. A wonderful coming three weeks to you all

Iโ€™m glad your feeling better! Sound like you still enjoyed the day though๐Ÿ˜€ the baby quilt is adorable! You could put something at the corners of the blocks in the sashing. Stipple meandering pattern would be nice โ€ฆ but that takes up a lot of time. It looks nice as is too, so I guess itโ€™s up to you when you want to finish.๐Ÿ˜Š. Jane is coming along little by little ,enjoy each moment โ€ฆ thatโ€™s the fun of quilting.

I’m so sorry you were feeling bad, but glad it was for a short time. I don’t remember seeing the whole Jane quilt, but that is a beauty! Do you have more than one hoop, or do you move your hoop from quilt to quilt? I usually use a frame, but I’ve been thinking I might get a hoop for some small quilts. I don’t have a good suggestion for the quilt pattern, but I like the idea of quilting in the strips. Is there a pattern in the fabric you can follow sort of randomly? Or seed stitching instead of stippling them?

The quilt was a pieced top that was gifted to me by the granddaughter of the mother of a dear friend (both have passed) I estimate the top to have been done about 50 – 70 years ago. I only have 1 hoop. My home is to small for a frame. Sadly, no good pattern in the sashing to follow

Sorry you felt bad (I am late in commenting) but sometimes our bodies rule our day! I had one of those days yesterday, but that was after working on Income taxes – such fun!. Jane’s quilt is a beauty and that baby quilt is so cute!
I am binding, binding, binding. Hugs and glad you enjoyed your day off!
